    BIOGRAPHY

Actress and fashion model Gal Gadot was born on April 30, 1985 in Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel, to an Ashkenazi Jewish family (from Poland, Austria, Germany, and Czechoslovakia). Her parents are Irit, a teacher, and Michael, an engineer, who is a sixth-generation Israeli.

At age 18 she was crowned Miss Israel 2004. She then served two years as a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces, where she was a combat trainer. She began studying at IDC Herzliya college before pursuing modeling and acting.

She made her film debut in the fourth film of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast & Furious (2009), as Gisele. Her role was expanded in the sequels Fast Five (2011) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013). In the films, Gadot performed her own stunts. She also had a minor role in the action-adventure Knight and Day (2010).

In 2016, Gadot played Wonder Woman in the superhero team-up film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). She received swordsmanship, Kung Fu kickboxing, Capoeira and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in preparation for the role. As a result, her performance as the superhero, which is the first time for the character on film, was hailed as one of the best parts of the otherwise poorly-received film. Gadot was nominated for Teen Choice Awards and Women Film Critics Circle Awards and Critics’ Choice Awards for the role.

In 2017, Gadot brought the comic-book Amazonian princess to life again in the first standalone Wonder Woman film, which got rave reviews. She will reprise the role in the ensemble Justice League film scheduled for release on November 17, 2017, which would be her third DC Extended Universe installment.

Gadot married her boyfriend, Israeli businessman Yaron Varsano on September 28, 2008 during the filming of Fast & Furious. They have two children, Alma Varsano and Maya Varsano. Gadot  is an avid motorcycle rider and owns a black 2006 Ducati Monster-S2R.
